Energy Bill Relief Scheme

Theatres Trust welcomes the government’s announcement of support for businesses and other non-domestic energy users.

Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy has announced details of the Energy Bill Relief Scheme, which will provide a discount on gas and electric unit prices for the next six months.

Theatres Trust welcomes this support, which will help theatres that were facing increases of more than 500% in some cases. However, while this will head off the most immediate threat to theatres’ operations and activities, it is vital that this support continues beyond the next six months to enable theatres to continue to support their communities.
