Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

We are deeply saddened at the news of the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. A constant and reassuring presence in UK life for 70 years, she was a supporter and patron of many cultural institutions. We would like to convey our deepest sympathy to the Royal Family at this time of national mourning.

As an Arm’s Length Body under the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, Theatres Trust will continue to operate during the period of National Mourning but we will refrain from making any public communications (media, speeches, events, social media, blogs and website updates).

Theatres seeking guidance on protocols should refer to the government website for information and updates, but they can continue to operate and perform shows and other events, although they may wish to pay their respects in any appropriate manner, such as a minute’s silence before performances or by playing the national anthem.
