Update on Covid restrictions in Scotland
Scotland's First Minister has announced that the restrictions on indoor events will remain in place until at least 24 January.
Under the rules announced in December, indoor seated events are capped at 200 with 1m social distancing between groups. The rules will be reviewed again next week.
Theatres Trust Director Jon Morgan responds:
Continued restrictions in Scotland mean that the majority of theatres will remain closed, being unable to operate viably with social distancing rules and capacity caps in place. The recent announcement of additional funding for the culture sector from the Scottish Government is welcome and we hope that the funding will be distributed swiftly to those theatres most in need.
