The Matcham Directory published

Frank Matcham (1854-1920) was responsible for designing over 100 theatres across the UK. The Matcham Directory is a comprehensive list of the theatres he was known to have designed and upgraded.

The cover of The Matcham Directory, by the Frank Matcham Society, published in 2020, on the centenary of his death. Fully-illustrated, each entry in The Matcham Directory has a description of the building, information about size and capacity, and an account of its history.

The directory was compiled by Frank Matcham Society Vice President Michael Sell, with an introduction by its President Emeritus, John Earl, to celebrate the theatre architect on the centenary of his death.

(Michael Sell is also an honorary Theatres Trust Life Friend, and John Earl is a former Theatres Trust Director).
