Theatres and other performance spaces recognised in Civic Trust Awards
The Civic Trust Awards is Europe’s longest running architectural and built environment awards programme.
It encourages the very best in architecture, promoting improvements the built environment for us all through design, sustainability, inclusiveness and accessibility, but also rewarding projects that offer a positive social, cultural, environmental or economic benefit to their local communities.
We are delighted to see a number of theatre and performance venues recognised in the 2019 awards.
Congratulations to Darlington Hippodrome and Theatre Hullabaloo for winning a Selwyn Goldsmith Award, given to exemplar projects that demonstrate excellent universal design principles.
Congratulations also to the Royal Academy of Music, St. Cecilia's Hall and the University of Bangor Arts and Innovation Centre for each winning a Civic Trust Award, in recognition of excellence in architecture or design, whilst being sustainable, accessible and provide a positive civic contribution.
