Creative industries sector vision

The government has published its vision for the creative industries sector.

Theatres Trust welcomes the breadth of the primary goals for the creative sector set out in the government’s Creative Industries Sector Vision: a joint plan to drive growth, build talent and develop skills: 

We know theatres have a significant economic impact on areas, but the strategy also recognises the importance of theatres on wellbeing and the role they need to play in tackling the climate emergency.

It is great to see Theatre Green Book recognised by the government (see Chapter 3 - 2030 environment objective) and the research developed for Theatres Trust by leading consultancies AECOM, Avison Young, Bristow Consulting and Buro Happold on the positive benefits of investing in upgrading theatre buildings for sustainability quoted in the strategy.
