DCMS Committee report on cultural placemaking and levelling up
Theatres Trust welcomes the publication of “Reimagining where we live”, having submitted evidence to the committee’s inquiry.
Following its parliamentary inquiry earlier in the year looking at whether funding for cultural initiatives has been reaching areas that historically have missed out, and what role the creative sector could play in revitalising public spaces post-pandemic, the DCMS Committee has published Reimagining where we live: cultural placemaking and the levelling up agenda.
Theatres Trust welcomes the report’s emphasis on cultural placemaking and the recognition that arts organisations can make a significant contribution to levelling up. We also back the committee’s call for urgent support for cultural organisations to help them survive the cost-of-living crisis.
Theatres Trust submitted a written response to the inquiry and gave oral evidence to it. Read our submission here.
