Update on restrictions in Wales

The First Minister of Wales has announced that Wales will remain at Alert Level 2.

Under these rules, theatres can have a maximum of 200 attendees and 2m social distancing is in place. The measures are being reviewed weekly.

Theatres Trust Director Jon Morgan responds:

The announcement that social distancing and capacity limits will remain in place for theatres in Wales is disappointing. Since these measures came into force, the majority of theatres in Wales have been unable to open as it is unviable to operate with such reduced audience numbers. We hope that the recently announced emergency support for the arts will be allocated quickly to support theatres through this difficult period.
